Why: I love kids and I love triathlons. I want to see cancer cured in our lifetimes-kids should not have to face this disease.
Motivation: My Mom, a cancer survivor who makes me do the Danskin triathlon with her each year as a celebration of another year in remission. My Aunt Bev, survivor of Lymphoma. My friend and college running partner Annette, who left her two babies and husband behind, after a brave battle with a rare form of blood cancer.
Goal: take it one week at a time, and find myself at the finish line.
Other races: little Danskin triathlons, 1 Olympic distance, several Centuries (but I only went the metric 100 distance, ate tons of food and talked the whole way with my girlfriends.)
Favorite tri gadget/gear items: my specialized women’s mountain bike seat on my road bike. Body Glide everywhere. “Recovery Rub” by Burt Bees.
Favorite Books: The Unbearable Lightness of Being, anything by Jennifer Weiner or the Bronte sisters.
Favorite Movies: Orlando, Bend it Like Beckam, Breakfast at Tiffan! y’s, Sound of Music
Favorite Songs/Artists: Blues, Reggae, French or Italian Opera.
Favorite Workout Songs: the sound of my heart beating, anything else and I will trip.
Morning or Evening: Morning workouts, afternoon naps, evening work.
Favorite Web Sites: www.vanya.com the website for a very special boy who needs an adoptive home. http://www.teamhoyt.com : this father pulled and pushed his disabled son through 6 ironman triathlons and many other races.
Favorite Eatery/Restaurant: My husband’s cooking is the best. My favorite food is Indian.
When you have downtime, how do you spend it? Playing with our kids, BIKING!
Tell us two lies and a truth about yourself…keep them guessing!
