this weekend’s workout
The place is Papa Bear, the time is Hope that is clear. Plan on riding your bike. We will be doing hill repeats on Papa bear to work on climbing skills, sustainable pace on climbs, and descending skills. A great workout for those experienced and new to cycling.
Here are the directions:
There are no rest rooms here so come prepared. The safeway in Orinda on the right side of the road has restrooms, so stop there prior to heading to the workout site.
From the east:
* Take 680 north or south depending on your starting point to 24 West
* Off of 24 West, Exit at Orinda and head north.
* Head north along Camino Pablo
* Look sharp after 1.75 miles for Los Amigos Road on left side
* Turn to the RIGHT and park in gravel parking lot next to sports field
From Oakland, Hayward, San Francisco, and points West:
* Cross the East Bay Bridge
* Get onto 24 East
* Off of 24, take the Exit at Orinda, turn left off the ramp
* Head north along Camino Pablo, which will go under 24
* Look sharp after 1.75 miles for Los Amigos Road on left side
* Turn to the RIGHT and park in gravel parking lot next to sports field
Sunday
Yup, another dual workout weekend. So, Saturday is 9:00 AM start, Sunday is 8:00 AM start.
Meeting point is Aquatic Park. Bring your wetsuit, borrow a wetsuit, or brave the chilly waters without one. We will meet at the cement bleachers right in front of the beach. Even if you are not going to swim, come on out as we have a run after the swim. Plan on being done by 11:30 AM.
