blogging your Ironman season
“Blogging” is this somewhat new phenomenon of essentially a diary that you publish online for all the world to see. Several web sites make it really easy to start one. It’s a great way to keep your family, friends, sponsors up-to-date as far as your training and fundraising goes.
You can get a blog from:
- Wordpress.com
- Blogger.com (Google)
- Bloglines
- TypePad (not free)
- and also (but not necessarily recommended), AOL Journals, Yahoo!360, and ugh! MySpace (only if you’re 18)
Blogs are pretty fun to do once you get the hang of it and you don’t necessarily always have to have something long to write. It’s nice to look back at your progress maybe even use it to take notes like “today I bought new shoes” (so when you go to replace them you know when you bought the pair.)
Some blogs from last year’s team — notice most stopped blogging after they finished their Ironman:
