Edgewood and Canada Intersection

From points East of San Francisco Bay and north of Hayward area.
Get to Bay Bridge and head west on 80 west
Take 101 south along peninsula
Just before SFO airport, take 380 west
This goes for about 1 1/2 miles to 280 south
Take 280 south for about 14 miles to Edgewood exit
Take the exit and head west some more
Less than 1/2 mile off the exit you will come to the intersection, park and look for team members

From San Francisco and points north
Take 101 south to 380 west and follow directions above

From Points south of route 84 (San Jose etc.) on the Peninsula, get to 280 north and the Edgewood exit and follow directions as below.

From points East of San Francisco Bay and South of Hayward
Take 880 south to 280 north
Take 280 north to Edgewood Exit, approximately 23 miles
Take exit and head west off exit to intersection

Lake Berryessa

Directions & Parking

  • Take 80 east from San Francisco area across the East Bay Bridge OR north on 880 or 680 out of San Jose 101 up to 80 east.
  • Once on 80 East look for the Suisun Valley Road Exit (<1 mile east of the 680/80 interchange)
  • Take Suisun Valley road north to Wooden Valley Road.
  • This will come to Route 121, where you will go right (north) to Moskowite Corners and route 128.
  • Take a left onto 128 toward Lake Berryessa.
  • Turn east onto Knoxville-Berryessa Road from Highway 128 at Turtle Rock Cafe.
  • The Lake Berryessa Marina Resort is where our cabins are.  Proceed east on Knoxville-Berryessa Road until you see the entrance to the Marina on the right side of the road.

Wildflower/Lake San Antonio South Shore

From the North

  • Take 101 south to the Jolon Road Exit (G-14) just north of King City
  • Proceed south on G-14 for approximately 20 miles.
  • At Lockwood make a right turn onto Interlake Road (G-14), proceed 13 miles and turn left onto Lake San Antonio Drive.
  • Proceed another 3 miles to the park.
  • Look for teammates too.

See www.tricalifornia.com for a map of the region.  Plan a minimum of 3 hours driving time from San Francisco.  TNT usually camps in the Redona Vista campsite.  You will be directed to the site at the entry to the park.

Helen Putnam Regional Park

Those living on the Peninsula (SF and south)

  • Take 101 north across the GG bridge for approximately 29 miles
  • Exit 101 onto Petaluma Blvd South
  • Follow Petaluma Blvd S west into Petaluma for approximately 3 miles
  • Look for Western Ave, Vintage Bank Antiques is on the NW corner of intersection.
  • Turn left onto Western Ave
  • Follow Western Ave for approximately 2 miles
  • Look for Chileno Valley Rd on left, Helen Putnam Park sign is on right side of road indicating a left turn ahead.
  • Once on Chileno Valley Rd proceed for approximately 8/10’s of a mile.

Those living in the East Bay can either cross the east bay bridge and follow
101 across golden gate bridge and then follow the directions above or as follows:

  • Get to intersection of 80 east and 24/880 intersection.
  • Take 80 east to 580 east to San Rafael-Richmond Bridge
  • Take 580 to 101 north and follow directions as above once on 101
  • Note it will not be the full 29 miles, so look for the Petaluma Blvd S exit.

Aquatic Park, San Francisco

(Just West of Fisherman’s Wharf)

From South of San Francisco

  • Take Highway 101 north
  • At 80/101 interchange stay on 101 north and exit onto Mission St
  • Take Mission right at bottom of off ramp
  • Take left onto Van Ness Ave (101 north) 1 block up on Mission.
  • Follow Van Ness to water (about 2.4 miles)
  • Park on the street* and walk to bleachers in front of the Aquatic park area

From North Bay, Marin

  • Take 101 south across Golden Gate Bridge
  • Exit on the Marina Blvd exit
  • Follow Marina Blvd to Bay Street, take a left onto Bay
  • Take a left onto Van Ness to the water
  • Park on the street* and walk to bleachers in front of the Aquatic park area

From the East Bay

  • Take the Bay Bridge (1-80)
  • Take 9th street exit
  • Drive through Market and take a left on Hayes Street
  • Take right onto Van Ness Ave (101 north)
  • Follow Van Ness to water (about 2.4 miles)
  • Park on the street* and walk to bleachers in front of the Aquatic park area

*If there is no street parking available, you can also park at Fort Mason, Marina Blvd & Buchanan across from Safeway.  It is about a 10 minute walk to Aquatic park from there.

Inspiration Point

For Sunday, Dec. 18
Inspiration Point, Berkeley (no making out in the car people!)

From Highway 24

§ Take the Orinda exit
§ Take Camino Pablo towards El Sobrante (north) for 2.2 miles
§ Turn Left onto Wildcat Canyon Road at stop light
§ Go 2.3 miles to top of hill
§ Parking lot for Inspiration point vista is on right (east) side of the road

From I-80 East

§ Exit at University Avenue and go east following it the end
§ Turn left onto Oxford Street
§ Turn right at Hearst Ave (about 2 blocks)
§ Turn left at Spruce Street (about 2 blocks)
§ Continue on Spruce to the Spruce Gate entrance to Tilden Park (about 2 miles to the top of the hill)
§ Follow Wildcat Canyon Road past the Botanical Gardens to the Inspiration Point vista (about 3.5 miles) on left (east) side of the road

Or another route through Berkeley:

From 580 or 80:
v Exit at Buchanan Street in Albany and head east toward the hills
v As you cross San Pablo Avenue, Buchanan becomes Marin Avenue.
v Drive Marin for about 2 miles. You will reach The Circle, which is a traffic circle around a fountain. Go halfway around the circle and then exit The Circle to continue straight up the hill on Marin. (this is fun to go up this hill on a bike)
v At Grizzly Peak, turn left.
v At Wildcat Canyon Road, turn right.
v Follow Wildcat Canyon Road for several miles, passing the Brazil Room and the Botanical Garden.

Inspiration Point will be on your left.

USF

USF is bordered by Masonic, Parker, Fulton and Turk Streets. Street Parking – best options are along Parker, Turk, Golden Gate, Fulton, Stanyan, or any of the mini side streets. Carpool if you can, but parking is pretty copious on the weekend.

Pay parking is available at the top of Lone Mountain (see Lone Mtn entrance on map) for $10 a day.

Directions to USF
From the Golden Gate Bridge/North Bay
After crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, stay in the right lane and take the 19th Avenue exit. Turn right on Cabrillo Street and then left onto 14th Avenue. Proceed to Fulton Street and turn left. At the top of the hill, turn left onto Parker Avenue and then right onto Golden Gate Avenue.

From the Bay Bridge/East Bay
After crossing the Bay Bridge, take the “101 North, Golden Gate Bridge” exit to the Fell/Octavia Streets exit (434B). Proceed straight 5 signals and turn left onto Fell Street. Travel approximately 1 mile to Masonic Av. Turn right on Masonic and travel 3 blocks. Turn left onto Fulton and continue 4 blocks to Parker Avenue (St. Ignatius Church will be on your right.) Turn right onto Parker, go one block to Golden Gate Avenue.

From the Peninsula/San Jose/South Bay
Take Highway 101 Northbound. Once in San Francisco, stay in the left lane and follow “101 North, Golden Gate Bridge” then take the Fell/Octavia Streets exit (434B). Proceed straight 5 signals and turn left onto Fell Street. Travel approximately 1 mile to Masonic Av. Turn right on Masonic and travel 3 blocks.
