The Cause

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Inc.is a national voluntary health agency:

Dedicated to curing leukemia and its related cancers lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma
Dedicated to improving the quality of life for patients and their families

It is estimated that leukemia and its related cancers strike 102,200 Americans each year and kill 56,210. Leukemia is the number one killing disease of children, yet affects 10 times as many adults.

This research is paying off: 25 years ago, only 5% of children diagnosed with leukemia survived, today, 73% of children with leukemia and 76% of those with Hodgkin’s disease will survive.  Many of the funds that support this research come from programs such as Team in Training. Team in Training is one of the ways The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society educates the public, raises money and reaches out to those in need.
